The sanctuary of St. Luke

umidissimo In this Saturday, I want to talk a bit 'of our beautiful sanctuary of Our Lady Virgin of San Luca ... or just San Luca. Often mistakenly called
cattredale, or basilica, when it comes to a sanctuary.
Via San Pietro in Independence, is our Church!
The sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca is a Catholic Marian shrine dedicated to the cult that rises on the Colle della Guardia, a partially wooded spur about 300 SLM is an important shrine in the history of the city of Bologna, since its roots pilgrimage to venerate the holy icon of the Virgin and Child known as the "San Luca". The sanctuary is accessible from Zaragoza door through a long and characteristic street with arcades, which crosses Via Zaragoza with the monumental and picturesque Meloncello Arc (1732) and then climb steeply to the shrine.

Sportsmen, like me :-) make the race ... and it is always wonderful and surprising look at the city side of Casalecchio that t'introduce in Modena for you to miss the look in a bright horizons with small dots .
And how the sweat has soaked your T-shirt will mean that you are at the end, you're at seicentosessantaseiesimo arc. Yes, in the sanctuary both beautiful and magnificent, the part that I think is curious is that + the construction of the porch.
A strange number 666, being Catholic symbolism in the number of the devil.
